GenerationS designated the best technology startups in Russia

              

 

 


October 15 at the Moscow International Forum "Open Innovations" the four winner projects at the accelerator technology competition GenerationS – one of each industry branch – were designated. The winner of the IT track, partner of which was Web Ready contest, has become the VeeRoute project from St. Petersburg.

VeeRoute – a service for transport logistics optimizing. The project is the winner of the "Skolkovo" Fund nomination at the Web Ready contest and a FRII resident. The basis of the project's team are graduates from the University of Information Technologies, including a world champion in Programming. The algorithms developed by VeeRoute allow building transport routes in real-time: planning for 10 000 addresses takes no more than 10 minutes; the solution saves for customers with a fleet of 100 trucks up to 2 million rubles per month, a 20% reduction in fuel consumption, a 40% increase in the number of processed by day receipts of applications. By the early October, the company has 7 customers, the total payment from which makes 360 000 rubles per month. The target market volume – $ 300 million per year.

The VeeRoute Project also won a special prize from the SAP Labs. Three more projects from IT track – 3Plet Publishing (Moscow), AddReality (St. Petersburg) and Piligrim XXI (St. Petersburg) gained an opportunity to participate in the FABERNOVEL acceleration program based on the leading innovation center NUMA in Paris. Project GeoCV (Moscow) received a grant from the construction company "Morton" in the "Smart City" nomination, as well as a special prize – a ticket to the LeWeb International Congress in the area of digital innovation.

The final of the federal accelerator competition GenerationS took place at the Moscow International Forum "Open Innovations". 25 strongest GenerationS projects in IT, Industrial, BiotechMed and CleanTech areas presented their projects to a jury consisted of 100 Russian and foreign investors.

All the GenerationS finalists will receive grants of 1 million rubles from the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology.
The best in the other branch tracks has become: Promobot multifunctional intelligent robot to work with clients (Industrial track), technology for producing Kera-Tech high-protein feed additive from waste poultry industry (BiotechMed track), and technology of cleaning heating systems, heat exchangers and industrial boilers from salts and scale with use a biotechnology based on lactic acid bacteria "Nanoserv" (Cleantech track). "A major victory in the competition – is getting investments and a result, – said at the opening of the GenerationS investment session Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister. – It's good that a platform that brings together those who have ideas and venture capitalists has appeared. And the investors are interested in the presented projects already, then, we are on the right track."

According to the GenerationS results of this year, about 50 projects have already entered into negotiations with the Russian venture investors. In addition, several corporations have expressed a desire to join the competition as the organizers and partners in the next year. "Even today, a number of Russian corporations see the GenerationS competition as a channel for interesting developments surf that can be used to solve their business problems. Today we are discussing a partnership with several companies, which are planning to create separate tracks for the industry technologies search next year", – commented Gulnara Bikkulova, RVC Director of innovation markets department.

GenerationS – the federal competition-accelerator for technology startups, designed to be a driver of high-tech companies' and breakthrough scientific technologies' growth. GenerationS provides opportunities for startups to turn the project into a successful business, find investors and gain useful contacts among experts. The competition-accelerator GenerationS was organized by RVC and Innovation Development Center with the support of the Government of Moscow. The project started in 2013 with acceleration of 70 projects – semifinalists of BIT competition, and in 2014 it became even more ambitious. In 2014, GenerationS was first time divided into four branch tracks – BiotechMed, Industrial, IT and Cleantech – and collected 1858 applications.
